“The inability to envision a certain kind of person doing a certain kind of thing because you've never seen someone who looks like him do it before is not just a vice. It's a luxury. What begins as a failure of the imagination ends as a market inefficiency: when you rule out an entire class of people from doing a job simply by their appearance, you are less likely to find the best person for the job.” - Michael Lewis, Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game

My Beliefs

I believe that everyone has a right to information and that quality assessment, analysis and coaching should not be confined to a select few, but freely available to all players, coaches and managers. Sport provides a univeral language that people of all nations and cultures can take part in. I love sport and believe that it has the power to effect great positive change in individuals and communities.

I agree with the findings found in the independent governance review of the International Cricket Council conducted by Lord Woolf. I embrace the global nature of the game of cricket and oppose the reduction of the Cricket World Cup to 10 teams. Sport should encourage equality among all nations and everyone should have the right to represent their country on the sporting field not just the nations that hold the dollars.

So who am I? No, I have not played international sport nor have I played for my state. But I grew up in country South Australia and played every sport I could. I studied physical education in high school and eventually studied sports science at university. I love sport and so I have played, coached, umpired, judged and analysed many sports, from grassroots level to high performance, in cities and regional areas, in Australia and around the world. I want everyone, regardless of playing level or location, to be able to access the opportunities that high performance and elite athletes take for granted and I want to help you to become the best that you can be participating in the sport that you love.

In 2010 I completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement & Health Studies) at the University of South Australia majoring in sports science. I am also an Australian Level 2 cricket coach, completing the course in 2012 and am currently undergoing accreditation as a level 2 umpire. Prior to commencing university, I participated in many sports including athletics, basketball, cricket, gymnastics, ten pin bowling and touch football, just to name a few. Upon graduation I obtained a position with the Darren Lehmann Cricket Academy (2010-2012) where I was involved in visual training, coach assistance and video analysis. I’ve also worked as a gymnastics coach at the Barossa Valley Youth Club (2003-2007), Tri Skills North Adelaide (2010), basketball coach at Barossa Valley Recreation Centre (2006), netball coach at Immanuel College (2010), and cricket coach at Scotch College (2010) and Prince Alfred College (2011-2012).

I am currently the Program Development Officer for the Vanuatu Cricket Association and assistant coach and analyst for the Vanuatu national cricket team and have travelled with the national side to Apia, Samoa for World Cricket League Division 8, to Port Vila, Vanuatu prior to WCL Division 7 and Jersey, UK for WCL Division 6.
