The World Cricket League Journey Continues

Vanuatu’s World Cricket League journey continues on Monday in Essex, England, not far from where the journey first began in the small island of Jersey. This cricketing adventure has spanned four regions of the world across seven years, from the channel islands of Europe to the sandy oil empire of Kuwait, from the tropical paradise of Samoa to the wild African plains of Botswana, and now we venture to the lush green fields of England. We have fought against 18 nations and conquered 13. We have tasted sweet victory and bitter defeat.

The World Twenty20 Qualifier may have shrunk from 16 to 14 teams but it is still just as important, with Twenty20 International status on the line and a place in the next qualifier at the World Twenty20 up for grabs. As with most of my tournament previews I begin with an analysis of the teams competing using ranking systems to help me predict the outcome of the tournament.
From the Shadows into the Light, Vanuatu Seek Gold in Moresby

Vanuatu a country a quarter of the size of Papua New Guinea will look to force their way out PNG’s shadow in the 2015 Pacific Games. Vanuatu have finished second to Papua New Guinea in the ICC EAP Trophies of 2011, 2013 and 2014 and finished 3rd in the last pacific games in 2011. The Vanuatu Men’s team depart Port Vila for Port Moresby on Thursday the 2nd of July.
